Adult Education Programs

Program Details

Ukrainian language courses for adults are available either through a formal setting, such as a university class, or through a more informal approach, such as a conversation class offered by a community organization. In some cases, adults prefer to use an independent study approach, or they may decide to travel to Ukraine for a true immersion experience.  While each approach brings its own benefits and challenges, adult learners are encouraged to make use of the wide array of Ukrainian resources which have been prepared for elementary and high school students. These materials reflect contemporary Canadian Ukrainian lifestyles, and the themes often present practical vocabulary for daily situations.

Ukrainian books, newspapers, journals and recent publications provide intermediate and advanced learners with an excellent source of contemporary Ukrainian vocabulary. Various Ukrainian websites acquaint readers with global events, information and activities in the diaspora.  At no other time in history have Ukrainian language learners had the ability to connect with the Ukrainian-speaking world simply at the touch of a keyboard.
