1. To analyze and apply plural forms of nouns in all cases.
2. To experiment with adjective-noun patterns using all cases in the plural form.
3. To recognize verbs and pronouns commonly used with the Dative Case, which give permission, receive action, and answer the question Кому?
4. To identify types of transportation and the verbs which differentiate between walking and riding to a destination.
5. To examine Ukrainian cultural interpretations of the concept of “luck” and culturally appropriate ways to express likes and dislikes.

Діялог 19 – До крамниці

Синопсис

Тарас просить Василя піти з ним до крамниці після школи. На жаль, Василь не може йти з Тарасом сьогодні. Тато позволив Василеві їхати до школи мотоциклом і він спішить, бо мусить негайно бути вдома після школи. Тарас думає, що Василь дуже щасливий, бо він їде додому мотоциклом, а Тарас мусить іти додому пішки!

As he walks home from school, Taras must stop by the store to pick up some groceries for his mother. Taras asks his friend Vasyl' to accompany him on this errand. Vasyl' can't, as he has received ‘rare' permission from his father to drive his motorcycle to and from school today. Taras believes that Vasyl' is very lucky indeed!

Step 2: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips --- Repeat

Step 2: Listen to the dialogue again, and echo-read frame by frame, using the audio clips as your guide. This means that you should repeat what you hear after each audio clip. Pay particular attention to the stresses on words and the intonation pattern in the sentences.
