1. To demonstrate an understanding of vocabulary associated with school activities, basic greetings and expressions as presented in the Unit.
2. To recall the uses of the Genitive Case and to extend your understanding of these uses in new sentence patterns.
3. To recognize the importance of the verb бути (to be) in expressing events about the past and future.
4. To apply the Imperative form, as well as the past tense of Perfective and Imperfective verbs which were introduced in previous Units.
5. To distinguish the difference between possessive pronouns and reflexive possessive pronouns.

Синопсис

Панна Вівчар і студенти у школі. Вона просить студентів показати домашнє завдання. Тарас, Маруся та Василь не мають домашнього завдання. Вони забули завдання вдома. Панна Вівчар просить студентів залишитися після лекції.

The classroom teacher, Miss Wiwchar, asks students to show their completed homework assignments. Taras, Marusia, Andriy and Vasyl' have forgotten their books at home, so they must stay after class. Has this ever happened to you?

Follow the procedure as outlined below. By now this pattern is familiar to you!

Step 1: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips

Step 1: View the PowerPoint (PPT) presentation. Listen to Dialogue 17 - Домашнє завдання using either the web link given, or the CD ROM provided. Click on the Audio button to hear the audio clips.

Step 2: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips --- Repeat

Step 2: Listen to the dialogue again, and echo-read frame by frame, using the audio clips as your guide. This means that you should repeat what you hear after each audio clip. Pay particular attention to the stresses on words and the intonation pattern in the sentences.
