Introduction to Unit XV: We Can't be Late!
There are mornings when every family member is in a rush to avoid being late for school or work. Unit XV focuses on this theme, as well as three sub-themes which present new vocabulary for body parts, clothing and buildings. This unit culminates with the Midterm Exam for the course.

- To identify and categorize new nouns into three sub-themes: parts of the body, clothing and buildings.
- To recall and apply new vocabulary into sentence patterns which describe morning activities, such as waking up, having breakfast, grooming oneself, and getting dressed up.
- To demonstrate an ability to use the Genitive case with the preposition до and buildings or geographical locations (cities, provinces, countries).
- To apply new vocabulary in authentic situations, as for example, a dialogue, story, advertisement or telephone conversation.
- To differentiate between regular and reflexive verbs with the same stem and to demonstrate an understanding of these verbs in sentences.

Розмова 15 – Уже пізно
Синопсис
Вже пізно, а діти ще не готові йти до школи. Петрик уже одягається, а Оленка майже готова. Вона знову зачісується! Нарешті, Тарас іде. Всі зараз готові йти до школи.
It's rather late and Taras, Petryk and Olenka are still not ready to leave for school. Their mother reminds them of the time and encourages them to hurry, so that they aren't late. |

Follow the procedure as outlined below. By now this pattern is familiar to you!
Step 1: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips
Step 1: View the PowerPoint (PPT) presentation. Listen to Dialogue 15 - Уже пізно using either the web link given, or the CD ROM provided. Click on the Audio button to hear the audio clips.
Step 2: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips --- Repeat
Step 2: Listen to the dialogue again, and echo-read frame by frame, using the audio clips as your guide. This means that you should repeat what you hear after each audio clip. Pay particular attention to the stresses on words and the intonation pattern in the sentences.
