1. To demonstrate the ability to use new vocabulary in family scenarios such as setting the table, shopping for groceries or getting ready in the morning.
2. To differentiate between number patterns used when stating the time of day and the calendar date.
3. To formulate question and answer patterns which describe the hour of the day, using the Nominative and Locative Cases.
4. To formulate question and answer patterns which convey the calendar date, using the Nominative and Genitive Cases.
5. To apply the First and Second Group Conjugation patterns to new verbs introduced in the Unit.

Синопсис

Тепер восьма година. Сніданок готовий і вже час уставати. Тарас не любить уставати! Певно, що він хоче ще спати. Петрик спішить до лазнички (умивальні).

It is now 8:00 a.m. Mother wakes Taras and Petryk by telling them that breakfast is ready. While Taras grumbles about his dislike of getting up in the morning, Petryk rushes to be ‘first' in the bathroom.

Step 1: View the PowerPoint (PPT) Slide presentation. Listen to Dialogue 13 – Час уставати, using either the web link given, or the CD ROM provided. Click on the Audio button to hear the audio clips.

Step 2: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips --- Repeat

Step 2: Listen to the dialogue again, and echo-read frame by frame, using the audio clips as your guide. This means that you should repeat what you hear after each audio clip. Pay particular attention to the stresses on words and the intonation pattern in the sentences.
