Unit XI Learning Outcomes are listed below, followed by illustrative examples which enabled you to demonstrate your understanding of each acquired outcome.

1. To categorize vocabulary associated with food, meal preparation and rooms in a Canadian home.
The names of foods were presented and you were given opportunities to connect these words to their meanings by placing them in appropriate categories (vegetables, fruits, desserts, etc.)
2. To demonstrate an understanding of colour adjectives and their agreement with the nouns which they modify in the Nominative Singular case.
You learned that colour words are adjectives and that all Ukrainian adjectives take the gender and number of the nouns which they modify. You practised this grammatical concept by matching colour adjectives with food nouns in Ukrainian, focusing only on the Nominative case.
3. To examine cultural elements associated with Ukrainian family life, as illustrated in the Unit dialogue.
After reading about the cultural significance of the living room and kitchen in a Ukrainian home, you were asked to examine your own family's use of these rooms as an extension of your cultural heritage.
4. To apply the Second Group Conjugation pattern to three new verbs presented in the unit.
Second Group Conjugation verbs were introduced to you and the new conjugation patterns were practised in the context of the Unit theme.
5. To describe a family meal scenario in your home or a relative's home, using grammatical structures and phrases presented in the unit.
While describing a typical family supper scene in your home or at a relative's home, you demonstrated your ability to use sentence structures and phrases in oral and written form.
