1. To categorize vocabulary associated with food, meal preparation and rooms in a Canadian home.
2. To demonstrate an understanding of colour adjectives and their agreement with the nouns which they modify.
3. To examine cultural elements associated with Ukrainian family life, as illustrated in the unit dialogue.
4. To apply the Second Group Conjugation pattern to three new verbs presented in the unit.
5. To describe a family meal scenario in your home or a relative's home, using grammatical structures and phrases presented in the unit.

Dialogue 11– Mother is cooking

Synopsis - Синопсис

Пан Козак тепер удома. Пані Козак і діти також удома. Діти у вітальні, а мама у кухні. Вона варить борщ і вареники на вечерю.

Mr. Kozak arrives at home to find Mrs. Kozak in the kitchen, preparing supper for the family. The children are in the living room, anxiously awaiting their favorite Ukrainian dishes – borshch and varenyky.

Step 2: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips --- Repeat

Listen to the dialogue again, and echo-read (repeat what you hear) after each audio clip. Pay particular attention to the stresses on words and the intonation pattern in the sentences.
