1. To demonstrate the ability to use nouns related to occupations, measurements and quantities.
2. To recall and apply all Case endings to nouns and adjectives presented in the course material.
3. To review the use of demonstrative pronouns and Group I verbs as applied to the theme of shopping.
4. To manipulate vocabulary and sentence structures which involve numbers, money and measurements.
5. To apply new sentence structures to authentic situations involving purchases.

Синопсис

Сьогодні Тарас у крамниці. Продавець питає, що Тарас хоче купити. Тарас мусить купити півкілограма масла, літр молока і хліба для мами. Тарас також купує кілограм цукерків за два доляри. Разом, усе коштує $6.25. Продавець дає Тарасові торбинку з хлібом, маслом, молоком, цукерками й рахунком. Тарас тепер готовий йти додому.

Taras arrives at the grocery store. Mr. Petrenko, the salesclerk, assistsTaras with his purchases of bread, milk and butter for his mother, and candies for his younger brother. Taras pays for the items and thanks the clerk for his assistance.

Step 1: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips

Step 1: View the PowerPoint (PPT) presentation. Listen to Dialogue 20 - Покупки using either the web link given, or the CD ROM provided. Click on the Audio button to hear the audio clips.

Step 2: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips --- Repeat

Step 2: Listen to the dialogue again, and echo-read frame by frame, using the audio clips as your guide. This means that you should repeat what you hear after each audio clip. Pay particular attention to the stresses on words and the intonation pattern in the sentences.
