1. To demonstrate greater competence in writing and pronouncing words with two or more syllables in Ukrainian.
2. To participate in activities which reinforce listening, speaking, writing and reading in Ukrainian on the topic ‘Attending An Event’.
3. To learn the names of the Ukrainian cardinal numbers 1-100.
4. To practise conjugating the Group I Ukrainian verbs which have been introduced in the course with all six personal pronouns.
5. To demonstrate an awareness of proper structures and patterns when using cardinal numbers with specific nouns.

Dialogue 4– Let’s Go To The Football Game!

Synopsis

Taras ’ father, Mr. Kozak, would like to know whether Taras and his friend Roman have some money for the football game. Roman assures Mr. Kozak that they have money and, after appropriate farewells, the boys leave for the game.

View the PowerPoint (PPT) Slide presentation. Listen to Dialogue 4 – Ходімо на футбол!, using either the web link given, or the CD ROM provided. Click on the Audio button to hear the audio clips.

Step 2: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips --- Repeat

Listen to the dialogue again, and echo-read (repeat what you hear) after each audio clip. Pay particular attention to the stresses on words and the intonation pattern in the sentences.
