1. To demonstrate a growing degree of competence in writing and pronouncing one and two syllable words in Ukrainian.
2. To participate in activities which reinforce listening, speaking, writing and reading in Ukrainian on the topic ‘Tickets to the Game'.
3. To display appropriate Ukrainian pronunciation skills for a variety of cognates, with a focus on Canadian cities and provinces.
4. To gain competence in using the Group I conjugation of Ukrainian verbs with personal pronouns.
5. To use appropriate question-answer techniques, inverted sentence order and prepositions when speaking about attending an event, such as a sports game or a concert.

Synopsis

Roman invites Taras to attend a football game. Taras would like to know which Canadian teams are playing and whether Roman has purchased tickets to the game.

Follow the procedure which is outlined below.

Step 1: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips

View the PowerPoint (PPT) Slide presentation. Listen to Dialogue 3 – Квитки, using either the web link given, or the CD ROM provided. Click on the Audio button to hear the audio clips.

Step 2: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips --- Repeat

Listen to the dialogue again, and echo-read (repeat what you hear) after each audio clip. Pay particular attention to the stresses on words and the intonation pattern in the sentences.
