1. To acquire vocabulary and sentence structures which describe daily activities of family members.
2. To participate in activities which reinforce listening, speaking, writing and reading on the topic ‘Plans for the Day’.
3. To demonstrate skill and confidence in using Ukrainian sentence patterns, cases of nouns (in singular form), verb declensions and other parts of speech which have been presented in the course.
4. To expand your ability to use auxiliary (helping) verbs with regular verbs.
5. To review adverbs and geographical terms presented in the course.

Synopsis

Mother would like to know her family’s plans for the day. Olenka will be writing letters, Petryk wants to play outside, Taras is going to play tennis and father wants to read a magazine. With everyone occupied, mother plans to have a rest.

Follow the procedure which is outlined below.

Step 1: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips

View the PowerPoint (PPT) Slide presentation. Listen to Dialogue 10 – Що робити?, using either the web link given, or the CD ROM provided. Click on the Audio button to hear the audio clips.

Step 2: View Slides --- Listen to Audio Clips --- Repeat

Listen to the dialogue again, and echo-read (repeat what you hear) after each audio clip. Pay particular attention to the stresses on words and the intonation pattern in the sentences.
